Botox Redux
Now, I am on my….Let’s fix the face…quest. I started with Botox…love it! It can be nerve wracking when you see someone coming at your face with needles…and it stings too. So, I ask for laser numbing cream first…then when they start the injections…I barely feel a thing. I always thought people sounded lame when they would use the phrase…”makes you look rested”…well, Botox really does…it truly softens and in some cases totally removes the lines from your face…not the crinkles you get all over…guess that will be a job for the laser….but the deep ones….and it helps soften those migraines for me…that was an added bonus.
Next, I was on to deep line filler. I needed a little something around my mouth…not in my lips…don’t want fish lips…but along the nose and at the corners of my lips. I choose Radiense. My doctor explained that it could be painful and she liked to give a dental block when doing it around the mouth…so not wanting any pain…I got the block. Well, the block was painful…she started the first injection before I was numb…OH MY GOD!!…it hurt something fierce…she applied ice immediately…and I told her to keep going cause I wasn’t stopping now…she did…the rest of my face was numb enough…still hurt here and there but not as bad as the first one…and that only lasted a few minutes. The whole procedure took only 30 minutes….very little bruising….a little soreness after the numbing wore off…took Tylenol that night and slept on two pillows…didn’t have much in the way of swelling either. The results are good and I will definitely have this done again when the time comes….but, I can’t say that I am looking forward to it…ouch!
