I did it! I actually overcame my phobia of needles long enough to go to see the Dermatologist and get Botox. For those of you who know me…you understand what a victory that is.
I woke up and decided that this would be the year. I would not just ask questions…weigh my options…but I would just step out and do it…pick a place and start. I guess my impending 56th birthday sort of shoved me into it…along with my new magnifying mirror.
I took one long hard look at myself…and decided today was the day. I had already done my research and found the “best in my area” specialist, so I just took out my trusty phone and dialed his number.
Two days later I almost called and chickened out…but took another look in that mirror and decided to get dressed and go.
Dr. Keller has a beautiful office…wonderfully staffed with such nice people…made me feel extremely special and most importantly “safe”.
I told the nurse that I was scared of needles and she said not to worry she would put numbing cream on my face…and she did.
Next Dr. Keller came in…he is charming…a friendly man with an intellectual wit. His robust smile put me right at ease. It took him a little longer than expected with me because of my light skin and close set veins…but there was not a moment of pain….I felt nothing.
I am told that it will take a few days to start seeing results…I am so excited! My next trip will be so much easier now that I took that first step…if you find yourself on the fence about doing something for yourself…take the plunge…you will thank yourself. I find myself wondering about my next foray into cosmetic procedures…perhaps filler?
